About Us

A Caring Network of Therapists for Your Mental Wellness Journey

Help when you need it most!

We are currently open and ready to offer our services via in-person or TeleHealth. If you are not feeling well or would just prefer to remain at home for your session, all of our therapists are set up to offer online TeleHealth (video) services. If your plan does not include TeleHealth services, check with us for the latest information.

We believe everyone deserves a chance to enjoy a productive and healthy life with successful and rewarding relationships. Our vision is to connect you to a network of some of the most talented, highly qualified and compassionate professionals in the mental health field, each with a broad range of skills and unique personal style. We help therapists help clients.

Access Healing Counseling & Associates (AHCA) administers a platform of services for an independently licensed network of experienced mental health professionals. In addition to maintaining their own practices, these professionals have chosen to be part of our community of therapists serving the Culver City, Playa Vista, Marina Del Rey, Westchester, Los Angeles and West L.A. areas.

These therapists and psychiatrists are uniquely equipped to help you access the keys to your emotional/psychological healing, wholeness and sense of well being. Once you are connected with a therapist, all communication with them will be handled via their individual voice-mail or email.

What is therapy like?

Every therapy session is unique and caters to each individual and their specific goals. It is standard for therapists to discuss the primary issues and concerns in your life during the sessions. Weekly appointments are typically scheduled which last about 45 minutes.

Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue, or longer-term, addressing more complex issues or ongoing personal growth. There may be times when you are asked to take certain actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or journaling to track certain behaviors. It is important to process what has been discussed and integrate it into your life between sessions.

For therapy to be most effective you must be an active participant, both during and between the sessions. People seeking psychotherapy benefit the most from treatment when they are willing to take responsibility for their actions, work towards self-change and create greater awareness in their lives.

Here are some things you can expect out of therapy:

  • Compassion, respect and understanding
  • Perspectives to illuminate persistent patterns and negative feelings
  • Real strategies for enacting positive change
  • Effective and proven techniques along with practical guidance.
Is psychiatric treatment right for me?

Seeking out psychiatric treatment may be necessary or an elective individual choice. There are many reasons why people come to treatment, including addressing long-standing mental health issues, such as problems with anxiety, depression or addictive disorders. Other times it is in response to unexpected changes in life, such as a divorce or work transition. Many seek psychiatric help as they pursue their own personal exploration and growth.

Treatment can address many types of issues including depression, anxiety, mood swings, conflict, grief, stress management, body-image issues, and general life transitions. We encourage you to take responsibility in resolving acute or long-standing suffering, creating greater self-awareness, and working towards changes to improve your life.

Do I really need mental health intervention? I can usually handle my problems.

Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you’ve faced, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it. In fact, professional mental health advice is for people who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be admired.

You are taking responsibility by accepting where you’re at in life and making a commitment to change by seeking help. Counseling provides long-lasting benefits and support, giving you the tools you need to avoid triggers, re-direct damaging patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.
