As a therapist, I believe it’s a privilege to be invited into the inner-most lives of my clients. Building a trusting relationship with my clients, where they feel comfortable sharing their lives with me, is the basis of my practice. I use a combination of psychodynamic therapy along with EMDR. These therapies allow me to help you reprocess old traumas so that they have less of an impact on your day to day life. I also work with women struggling with cancer, as well as people struggling with grief. I work with individuals, couples and families, and teens age 14-18. I believe that people are resilient and can learn to cope with the most difficult problems in life with the right tools and someone who understands their struggles and supports them through the changes.
Certifications and Expertise
As a Clinical Social Worker working in a variety of mental health agencies throughout Los Angeles, I have trained in Trauma Treatment, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Seeking Safety, and Critical Incident Debriefing to assist clients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have also been trained in Incredible Years and Nurturing Parenting, to help parents connect with their children while establishing the necessary limits children need. I am also an EMDR certified clinician.
Education and Training
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and my Master’s in Social work from the University of Southern California. I began my training at Kaiser Permanente’s Department of Psychiatry, and was accepted into their Post-Master’s Fellowship Program which continued my training in Psychodynamic Therapy. I also hold a Certificate of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies.
