About

Life is an ever-changing journey and it’s nice to have extra support at various points along the way. The first step in getting help is reaching out. I like to work with those who are open and willing to make the necessary changes for optimal happiness. I have experience with many kinds of people struggling with their mental health. I love to work collaboratively with those who are committed to bettering their mental health and improving their lives. Many of us need that extra support for relationship struggles, the stress of everyday life and traumatic events, and I am here to work with you on these challenges.

I work with adolescents, adults, individuals, and couples. I believe the mind and body are closely connected and often incorporate mindfulness into treatment. As we are holistic beings, I keep in mind that we are made up of many different and interconnected pieces and that we are a part of many systems. I am mindful in my practice in that I work together with my clients on how to best serve them, tailoring treatments for each unique situation.

I enjoy working with moms in the perinatal period and beyond. I am a mother myself and understand the difficulties that come with this role. Parenting can be challenging, and I am happy to help parents work through these difficult times. Additionally, I have years of experience working with those with addiction and substance use histories and those identifying as LGBTQ+.

Certifications and Expertise

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has worked in community clinics as well as private clinics and tailor treatment to the individual. Because of my holistic viewpoint I love exercise and the way it can benefit our mental health. Mindfulness is one of my favorite ways to strengthen the mind/body connection. As our past greatly influences our present and our future I often use a psychodynamic framework in sessions. I also like to utilize motivational interviewing and pull in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) when appropriate.

I am a birth doula as well as an LCSW and have a real passion for maternal mental health. In 2016 I completed the maternal mental health training certificate program through 2020 Mom and Postpartum Support International.

I aim to help clients make changes that are sustainable and assist in building a good toolbox to cope with whatever challenges may come.

Education and Training

I graduated with a Masters in Social Welfare (MSW) from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2011, concentrating in mental health issues. I have had experience working at an outpatient Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health clinic where I provided case management and therapy to clients with multiple and moderate to severe mental health diagnosis and concerns. I believe these experiences gave me a thorough education in mental health and helped build my clinical knowledge base before I transitioned into working in private settings. The transition has been seamless and I have worked with a wide range of clients and look forward to helping a wide variety of client populations.
